Welcome to Indy

The food.

Indianapolis has a thriving food scene, with a variety of local restaurants serving up everything from classic Hoosier dishes to international cuisine. Consider taking a food tour to sample the best of what the city has to offer.

Sports, but better.

Indianapolis is home to a number of professional sports teams, including the Indianapolis Colts (NFL), Indiana Pacers (NBA), and Indianapolis Indians (minor league baseball). Catch a game and experience the excitement of live sports.

World-class Museums.

The Indianapolis Museum of Art is one of the largest and most comprehensive art museums in the United States, with over 54,000 works of art in its permanent collection. The museum also sits adjacent to 100 Acres at Newfields for outdoor enthusiasts to enjoy outdoor art installations, summer concerts, outdoor movies and more.

Indianapolis Area Descriptions

Eagle Creek Area:

This is where The Heritage Group is located so anything in this area will be closest to The Center. It also has a large city park, Eagle Creek Park, and easy access to restaurants and the interstate to get downtown or to other areas of town. Not a big nightlife here.

Zionsville:

This is a suburb of Indianapolis, and it has a lovely family park and a beautiful “downtown” village with tree-lined brick streets. There is a family park, Lions Park, lots of restaurants, and some trails here for walking and biking. This is a quiet, family-oriented area of town. Close to Eagle Creed if you like walking through nature trails. About 15 minutes from The Center, 15 minutes from Carmel, and 25 minutes from downtown Indianapolis.

Carmel:

This is another beautiful suburb of Indianapolis. It too is family-oriented but also has quite a few more social opportunities. There is a “downtown” area with lots of restaurants and bars, a local brewery and the Monon walking trail runs north of Carmel south to Downtown Indianapolis so you could walk or ride your bike about 20 miles in either direction. Great for families, young professionals, or quiet solitude if that is your preference.

Broad Ripple:

This is also north of Indianapolis and about 20 minutes from The Center. It has a more urban, young professional feel with lots of restaurants and bars. It is close to Developer Town – a tech startup co-working space and has a vibrant urban feel although it is still suburban. The Monon Trail runs through Broad Ripple, and it is about 5 minutes from The Indianapolis Art Museum (lots of outdoor movies, concerts, etc. happening on the IMA grounds). About 15 minutes from Zionsville, Carmel, and downtown.

Downtown Indianapolis:

Indianapolis has a thriving downtown scene with lots of restaurants, bars, and the Circle Center Mall. The area near Mass Ave is a lot of fun with the cultural trail for walking, a brewery, and lots of shops and restaurants. If you’re looking to get out and explore downtown, this would be a good choice. It is about 15 – 25 minutes from The Center. If this is appealing but you cannot decide exactly which lodging to choose, please reach out to Ashley for more details about areas of downtown that may be best for you.
